4 Acres of Bermuda Hydroseeding for Erosion Control in North Raleigh

Freshly hydroseeded Bermuda grass erosion control project in North Raleigh, NC before grass growth begins

At Eastern Erosion Control, we recently completed a 4-acre Bermuda hydroseeding project in the Olde Creedmoor neighborhood in North Raleigh, NC. The goal of this project was to stabilize the area and help prevent ongoing washouts and erosion issues across the property. Before hydroseeding began, we carefully prepared the site to give the seed the best possible chance for successful growth and long-term stabilization. We thoroughly raked the entire area to improve seed-to-soil contact, an important step that helps promote healthier germination and more even coverage.

For this project, Bermuda grass was selected because of its durability, strong root system, and ability to establish effective ground coverage for erosion control. Hydroseeding is an efficient solution for large areas like this, helping distribute seed, mulch, fertilizer, and tackifier evenly across the site for optimal coverage and moisture retention.

While the area has recently experienced slower-than-normal growth due to a lack of consistent rainfall and water, the preparation work and hydroseeding application have created a strong foundation for the grass to establish as conditions improve. Adequate watering is one of the most important factors in successful hydroseed germination, especially during warmer North Carolina weather.

Projects like this are a great example of how proper site preparation and erosion control solutions work together to protect properties from future runoff and soil loss. Whether it’s residential developments, commercial properties, or large open areas, hydroseeding remains one of the most effective and cost-efficient methods for stabilizing disturbed ground.
